A new directive means higher demands for toys
July 21, 2011 the new Directive from EU - known as RoHS II - entered into force. The key elements of the Directive is:
- More product groups will be included by the new Directive.
One of the big changes is that toys with at least one intended electrical function (electrical power/electromagnetic field) is included. This means that all electrical toys will be included by RoHS II - New obligations for the documentation for manufacturers, importers og distributers
- A CE label is required for all electrical equipment included by RoHS II. Thus, the CE label for electrical toys has to comply to the RoHS Directive
All member states have to implement the directive nationally by January 3, 2012.
