Ban against Bisphenol A in plastic infant feeding bottles
As from June 1st 2011 importation and marketing of infant feeding bottles made of polycarbonate in the European Union is banned
A ban against manufacturing infant feeding bottles of polycarbonate came into force on May 1st but now the ban also includes import and marketing. The background for the ban is that the much discussed substance, Bisphenol A, may migrate from infant feeding bottles made of polycarbonate. The discussion on the use of Bisphenol A has been going on for a long time and now a ban has come into force.
