Acrylamide

New regulation on the reduction of acrylamide in foods, The Commission Regulation (EU) 2017/2158, went into effect on 18 April 2018. Acrylamide is a contaminant as defined in Council Regulation (EEC) NO 315/93 and as such, it is a chemical hazard in the food chain.

Biogenic Amines

Biogenic amines are found in a variety of foods, such as fish, meat, wine, cheese and other fermented food products. Food and pet food that have been exposed to microbial contamination during aging or storage will have an increased concentration of biogenic amines.
